    José L. Mauriz, a Ph.D. degree holder, is a Professor at the Institute of Biomedicine (IBIOMED) and Department of Biomedical Sciences (University of León, León, Spain), a Member of the Spanish Networking Biomedical Research Centre in Hepatic and Digestive Diseases (CIBEREHD), and a Former Researcher at the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM Paris, France). Dr. Mauriz has expertise in liver cancer, apoptosis, autophagy, animal models, cell culture, and oxidative stress.

    Orazio Schillaci

    Orazio Schillaci graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1990 at the Sapienza - University of Rome. He specialized in Nuclear Medicine in 1994 at the same university and in Radiodiagnostica in 2009 at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata". In 2000 he earned the title of research doctor in "Radioisotopic Functional Imaging" at the Sapienza - University of Rome. From 1998 to 2001 he was a university researcher at the University of Aquila. From 2001 to 2006 he was associate professor of Nuclear Medicine at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata", where he has been a professor of medicine since 2007 Nuclear and currently director of the School of Medicine and Surgery.

    Rafik Karaman

    Professor

    Professor Rafik Karaman is currently a distinguished professor of pharmaceutical sciences, College of Pharmacy, Al-Quds University, Jerusalem, Palestine and adjunct professor at Basilicata University, Italy. He received his Ph.D. MS and bachelor degree in Pharmacy from the Hebrew University. He was an Assistant Professor at the University of Toledo and University of California for 5 years where he worked with Professor T.C. Bruice in the bioorganic chemistry field. Professor Karaman is broadly interested in the design and synthesis of prodrug systems to be used for the delivery of certain drugs that have poor water solubility or/and have low bioavailability as well as synthesis of prodrugs for masking the bitter sensation of commonly used drugs. The prodrug design is executed using ab initio, DFT, semiempirical, molecular mechanics as well as molecular dynamics and conformational dynamics methods.

    Daniela Carlisi

    Daniela Carlisi is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Biochemical Science, University of Palermo. Her main research interest focused on: biochemical characterization of cell death on different cancer cell lines, isolation, and characterization of cancer stem cells, the effect of oxidative stress on cells. Dr. Carlisi obtained her Ph.D. in “Experimental Oncobiology” (2007) at University of Palermo. Then she won a Post-doc fellowship.

    Namas Chandra

    Professor and Director

    Dr. Namas Chandra is a Professor of Biomedical Engineering and the Director of the Center for Injury Bio-Mechanics, Materials and Medicine (CIBM3) at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark, NJ, USA. He is also the co-director of the newly established Institute for Brain and Neuroscience Research (IBNR). He was the Elmer-Koch Professor of Engineering and recent past Associate Dean for research and Graduate Studies at the College of Engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL).After about 8 years of work experience in Nuclear Industry, Dr. Chandra completed his PhD in Mechanical Engineering in 1986 at Texas A&M University. From 1986 to 2006, he was at Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Florida State University. In 2006, after about 20 years as a research professor, Dr. Chandra became the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies at UNL. During this period, he has published over 215 publications including 115 in archival journals, edited four books, two book chapters, and presented 45 colloquiums, 6 workshops. His Google Citation index is currently around 3532 with h=33. He has also supervised MS, PhD and post-doctoral students totaling 40 in numbers. As associate dean for research he oversaw a research funding of $30 Million per year for 175 faculty member in 11 different departments in the college. He has been continuously funded approximately $23 Million from federal, state and private agencies, with a current funding of $7M. He is dedicated to engineering education, esp. international education and has strong collaborative ties with Brazil, France, Sweden and India.

    Payam Sheikhattari

    Co-Director & Associate Professor

    Dr. Payam Sheikhattari is cross-trained in epidemiology, public health, and medicine with over 18 years of international experience working as a practitioner, member of the faculty, researcher, trainer, administrator, and technical advisor. He is currently the Principal Investigator of two large research grants funded by the National Institute of Health (NIH) in the areas of tobacco use among the underserved and biomedical research training. Dr. Sheikhattari has worked on numerous assignments as a technical expert in: monitoring and evaluation (M&E), capacity development, strategic planning, gender analysis, quality management, and behavioral change communication (BCC) program design and implementation. His areas of expertise are: health promotion, disease prevention, nicotine dependence, reproductive health, mental health, and emergency management and response. Payam has given scientific presentations and served as an international consultant in over 20 countries.

    Chung-Yi Chen

    President Chen obtained PhD in 1999 at Kaohsiung Medical University. Currently teaches in Fooyin University, as most young is also the most senior professors and deans. The past 20 years, he has his scientific interests focused on life-threatening diseases, including traditional Chinese medicine used for cancer research. Analysis in recent year’s major active ingredients such as ginger, pepper and cinnamon used in gastrointestinal cancer, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antiparasitic, and other topics. President Chen specializes in isolation, purification and structural analysis of active components of plants. President Chen directed against active constituents of oral cancer, liver cancer, and rectal cancer. President Chen was just over 45 years old, but his work has more than 200 papers, Taiwan one of the young talents. Professor Chen was invited more than 90 kinds of Journal editorial boards. Professor Chen won numerous awards at home and abroad, from 2015, was awarded the lifetime achievement award; from 2016 was awarded the health care & biotechnology merit award.
